Has Ultium Made a Decision?
Ultium Cells LLC, a joint venture between General Motors and LG Energy Solution, is developing a competitive business case for an estimated $2.4 billion EV battery plant that could be in New Carlisle, Indiana. The company is currently building EV battery facilities in Lordstown, OH, Spring Hill, TN, and Lansing, MI. The company is completing final due diligence and plans to make a location decision soon.
We believe St. Joseph County has one of the best sites in the nation and look forward to working with the company as they near a final decision in the upcoming months. We have developed FAQs to help bring clarity to the project. The responses are based on information provided from multiple sources, including Ultium Cells and General Motors.
